January 18, 2017 - Honda Korea (www.hondakorea.co.kr, CEO Chung Woo-young) announced that it officially launches the Accord Hybrid, featuring overwhelming fuel economy and driving performance, at the official launching event held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul.
The Accord Hybrid is the most complete and advanced hybrid sedan available today that satisfies best-in-class fuel economy, power and the lowest carbon footprint among its competitors. It boasts of excellent commercial benefits and economic feasibility with up to a total of 1 million won in government support as it meets the hybrid vehicle purchasing subsidy standard, and the driver can also enjoy various tax benefits of up to 2.7 million won, and outstanding hybrid battery warranty of 10 years/unlimited km.
▶ Overwhelming urban fuel economy of 19.5km/ℓ combined with dynamic driving performance!
Based on the concept of 'True Hybrid Expert', the Accord Hybrid is powered by a 2.0 liter hybrid engine which was listed as one of the '2017 10 best Engines' by US auto magazine Wards Auto, and equipped with i-MMD (intelligent multi-mode drive) hybrid power train which is consisted with two electric motors E-CVT and lithium-ion battery.
Based on such outstanding physical features, it achieved 19.5km/ℓ (combined 19.3km/ℓ, high speed 18.9km/ℓ), the highest urban fuel economy in its class. Equipped with a ‘Sports Drive Mode’ to add to the 215 horsepower (ps), also the best system output in its class, it provides more enhanced dynamic driving performance. As two more driving modes, namely the ‘EV Drive Mode’ and ‘Hybrid Drive Mode’ are provided, drivers can enjoy a total of three different driving modes, depending on the driving environment. By applying an amplitude-sensitive damper and enhanced NVH performance, the driving feeling and safety are greatly improved.

Accord Hybrid achieves excellent eco-friendly performance with a minimum carbon footprint of 83 g/km, the best among its competitors. It is also subject to hybrid vehicle purchasing subsidies of up to 1 million won from the government, and tax exemptions of up to 2.7 million won, including individual consumption tax, education tax and acquisition tax. As it is classified as a ‘Class 2 Low Emission Vehicle,’ various other benefits are also provided, including 50% discount of public parking lot fees in the Seoul metropolitan area and the congestion fee exemption of Seoul Namsan Tunnel (only those registered in Seoul RFID tag system).
▶ Exclusive and luxurious hybrid design and enhanced safety and convenience
The Accord Hybrid has developed a more luxurious and sporty design by applying the hybrid-exclusive styling package to the inside and outside of the vehicle, improving the future-oriented and sporty design of the existing Accord. The LED headlamps and rear combination lamps employ a blue extension lens, and a piano black and chrome combination front grille, trimmed aluminum bonnet lines, 17-inch alloy wheels, a side seal garnish, and a trunk spoiler are featured.
Many of the safety and convenience features that have been carried over from existing Accord 3.5 V6 models have also been applied, including a driver side memory seat, passenger four-way power seat, and ECM room mirror. Safety features such as a 'Rain watch' function to support safe lane changes by revealing blind spots for right hand lane changes and front and rear parking assistance sensors have been added as well.
Based on the Android OS-based Display Audio (DA), Apple CarPlay and ATLAN 3D navigation were applied, and various convenience specifications such as wireless smart phone charging device and remote start device were maintained.
To achieve a higher level of customer satisfaction, an unprecedented hybrid battery warranty period of 10 years/unlimited km is also standard, based on the overwhelming technological prowess and durability of Honda.
The vehicle comes in as the following five colors, silver, white, metal, black and cobalt blue, an exclusive color option for hybrid vehicles.
