Bangkok - Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. announces the success of the Honda HR-V, the global premium sport crossover that is a worldwide hit with cumulative global sales of over 1.5 million units* since it first launched in Japan in December 2013. The Honda HR-V has also enjoyed an overwhelming response from Thai customers since it first launched in Thailand in November 2014. The Honda HR-V had the highest sales volume in the SUV segment for three consecutive years, with cumulative sales of over 62,000 units. It is truly a pioneer model in the compact crossover segment, achieving an 80% market share in this segment and capturing a 29% market share of the total SUV segment in 2017. The Honda HR-V has also received 10 awards from six leading organizations over the past three years, from 2015 to 2017.

The Honda HR-V has received 10 awards in Thailand from six leading organizations over the past three years. They include the “Car of the Year” award for the Best SUV Under 1,800cc for three years in a row from Grand Prix Group; the award for Outstanding Initial Quality Satisfaction for a Compact Crossover from the Thailand Automotive Quality Awards (TAQA) 2017; and the iCar Asia People’s Choice Awards – Car of The Year 2017: Crossover of The Year.

It quickly became a popular vehicle among Thai customers, with current cumulative sales of 62,000 units. We then introduced the Honda BR-V in 2016 to support the growing demands of the sub-compact SUV segment. As a result, Honda’s SUV lineup met market demand by being perfectly aligned with our customers’ various needs. This has allowed Honda to retain the leadership position in the SUV segment, with a 63% market share of the total SUV segment in 2017.”
