AHM Releases New Honda Scoopy – FI
Jakarta – PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) launches New Honda Scoopy – FI with new metro-stylish design and reliable engine which is equipped with PGMFI injection technology with many best features on its class.
The launch of this model strengthens Honda’s image as pioneer of unique-fashionable AT scooter in Indonesia as well as strengthens AHM’s commitment in implementing environmentally friendly technology on its new products. New Honda Scoopy – FI becomes the eleventh product of Honda’s injection motorcycle, thus it gives more choices of environmentally friendly motorcycle to customers

New Design
New Honda Scoopy – FI comes with new design to grasp its wider segment through two concepts : Sporty and Stylish. The sporty theme is presented to customers who want to look different with new trend reflected in its asymmetric stripe. Meanwhile, stylish theme is presented to customers who want to look more stylish and cool.

Headlight of New Honda Scoopy – FI uses projector headlight type which becomes the first in the AT scooter segment. This technology makes the headlight becomes brighter and as for its design looks more stylish and cool. The winker light is integrated with its body thus it makes Honda Scoopy looks more stylish.

Reliable and Efficient Engine
New Honda Scoopy – FI is equipped with a reliable 110cc PGMFI engine that offers more dynamic performance, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly. It has the most efficient fuel consumption in its class by 56 km/liter or 26% more efficient than its previous generation (ECE R40 mode) and meets EURO2 emission standard.

In terms of enigne perfomance it can produce the best maximum speed and acceleration on its class. Thus, it creates passionate to ride.
 
Excellent Features
To give more convenience values, the latest model of Honda Scoopy is equipped with new U-Box capacity which reaches six times larger than its previous generation or reaches 15.4 liter which fits with a standard Scoopy’s helmet inside it.

This model is also equipped with seat opener integrated in secure key shutter, thus it offers convenience in operating it. This feature previously has been applied into premium AT scooter Honda PCX and hi-end AT scooter Honda Vario Techno 125 PGMFI. This feature gives more added value to customers.

The riding position of this model gives more comfort and convenience through its wider double seat, wider step floor, wider knee space clearance, and lower seat height. This changes gives comfortable and convenience position on riding.

New Honda Scoopy-FI becomes a stylish AT scooter which has the most comprehensive safety features in its class by maintaining some Honda’s innovative features, such as Side Stand Switch which makes engine off when on lower position and Brake Lock which in this model easier to be operated and functions to avoid its jump when started. It has Magnetic Key Shutter which is effective in preventing theft.

Market Condition
Honda Scoopy is known as pioneer of retro AT scooter in Indonesia.  AHM firstly released it on May 2010 to fill the ‘blue ocean’ market as well as to fulfill the needs of youth lifestyle who want to be different. Since it firstly launched until last year, this model has been sold 498,270 units. Public acceptance of this retro-modern AT scooter strengthens Honda’s position as King of AT in this country that in 2012 was recorded its domination 68% market share in the AT scooter segment.

The launch of this Honda Scoopy, which comes more attractive through the application of injection technology and many features applied, intends to make its continued success and expands retro AT market in Indonesia.

 “The competition in the AT scooter segment is more tight due to many manufacturer compete in this segment. Nevertheless, we believe New Honda Scoopy – FI will become the most desirable product by customers because of its new design and features which is safety and convenience for daily use,” says Executive Vice President Director Johannes Loman.

Variant and Price
New Honda Scoopy – FI is marketed start from February 2013 in price (on the road Jakarta) Rp 13.900.000,-. To give more choices for customers, AHM offers 2 variants: Sporty and Stylish. Sporty variant comes with 2 color options: Metro Black and Cosmo Cream.

Meanwhile, Stylish variant comes with 3 color options: Fancy Black, Chic Cream, and Vogue Red. AHM’s sales target for New Honda Scoopy – FI is 15,000 units /month.
